Transitions Reentry Program

Life After Incarceration & Addiction

The Transitions Reentry Program provides safe and affordable housing for men transitioning back into our community. Last year, 18% of released men from the Oregon Department of Corrections sought and were accepted into our program, making up 80% of our yearly commitments. An additional 10% comes from Marion County Parole and Probation, and 10% from various referrals, including the Men’s Mission.

The UGM Transitions Reentry Program aims to heal the harm caused by crime and addiction to victims, offenders, families, and communities. We believe in the capacity for change in an environment that fosters spiritual grounding, structure, responsibility, and accountability.

Our Christian-based mentorship prioritizes responsibility and accountability, yielding credibility, healing, effectiveness, reduced recidivism, and community contributions.

GOAL ONE:

Bring honor and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to manifest this honor through the redemptive work that Jesus accomplished for all humanity on the cross at Calvary.

GOAL TWO:

Create a home environment where clients can find solace from the world and concentrate on the responsibilities that will empower them to cultivate a productive and triumphant lifestyle

“If I said, ‘Man, I’ve got a little bit of PTSD from all the time I’ve done,’ someone would say, ‘I understand.’  We’ve grown up in a war zone. Now, I’m back in society drinking a latte.”
