Back in 1952, a group of Christian businessmen, became concerned with the homeless men coming into the Willamette Valley for the harvest.
After prayerful consideration, the doors opened to Union Gospel Mission of Salem in June of 1953.
70+ years later, hundreds of men, women, and children walk through our doors looking for relief, shelter, and life change.
Services Provided
Upwards of 150 homeless men seek refuge with us each night. They have access to the following services:
Guest Services
Transitions Reentry Program
Learning Center
New Life Fellowship
Chapel
Our chapel is a welcoming space where our guests have the opportunity to encounter the transformative power of the gospel.
Attending chapel is optional and guests are free to join us for a nourishing meal regardless. However, we firmly believe that a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ holds the key to unlocking true, holistic life transformation. It's an invitation to discover a path of purpose, healing, and renewed hope.
Chapel services times:
Morning: 8:00 a.m.
Evening: 6:30 p.m.
