How my gift was used
- Refer more individuals to both UGM shelters and other service providers.
- Meet an average of 42 new people each month.
- Provide more than 15,000 essential items.
- Provide opportunity for whole life change and the chance to hear the gospel message.

Regardless of the reason, we at Union Gospel Mission of Salem believe that every person has inherit value and can experience positive life-change.
This is why we launched the Search & Rescue outreach ministry in 2017. This program meets homeless people where they are; in tent camps, on the streets, and in the woods and parks. Five to seven days every week they bring bottled water, coffee, protein snacks, blankets, clean socks, and more. This both helps people meet their immediate needs and start to build trust with our staff.
Search & Rescue also offers rides to the Men’s Mission and Simonka Place for Women & Children where people can persue long-term solutions for life change.
