About Us
Partnering with churches, individuals, and organizations to maximize our effectiveness, we help the neediest of our community break the cycle of homelessness, addiction, and incarceration as men and women experience dynamic transformation in following Christ, and become contributing members of our community.
Union Gospel Mission of Salem holistically approaches homelessness. Working to help rewrite the futures of our unsheltered neighbors’ lives, UGM provides for basic needs, yet moves beyond immediate relief by teaching guests self-sufficiency, self-worth, and skills for independent living through our advanced services.
With Christ as the force behind any transformation, we trust God to see His good work through to completion as we and our community partners collaborate to change the face of homelessness, one story at a time.
Mission Statement
Helping men, women, and children break free from homelessness through the transforming grace of Jesus Christ.
Statement of Faith
Union Gospel Mission is a non-denominational, Christ-centered, evangelical ministry.
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
- We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.
