1) WE’RE LOCAL. The money you spend goes back into the community we know and love. You are helping the local economy by providing jobs and funding Union Gospel Mission of Salem’s life changing programs and services for our homeless brothers and sisters.
2) WE RECYCLE. Did you know we have a recycling program? Donations like shoes, purses, and clothing that are “past their prime” are acceptable. We bale these items and sell them for cash that provides necessities like food, shelter, and support for our services, which helps to break the cycle of homelessness for men and women.
3) UGM GUESTS SHOP FREE. Not only do Mission Store donations supply inventory for our shelves, but your donations also provide for the needs of UGM’s guests who can shop the store for FREE: jackets, pants, shirts, socks, and other necessities are made available to them thanks to YOUR in-kind donations.
What’s more, men and women who have completed our New Life Fellowship program, or guests who have found housing receive a voucher to shop for home furnishings once they transition out of UGM’s shelter.
4) 100% OF STORE PROCEEDS SUPPORT UGM’S PROGRAMS/SERVICES. You can feel good about the money you spend at the Mission Store. Not only are you getting a great deal on every item you buy, but you are also directly supporting and caring for our community’s homeless men, women, and children.
